Jeremy and I had the opportunity to travel to Chicago to do 2 engagement sessions. We thought it would be nice to get out of the Indy area and get a change in scenery. Both of the couples live in the Chicago area so we made a go of it. The day started off with Jennifer and Aaron. They are a super fun couple and we had so much fun with their pictures. We shot in the museum campus area and thought we would take a cab to Michigan Ave. to get some lunch. We had a nice time getting to know them while we ate at Au Bon Pain. As we were heading back we thought we would take the trolly... Well, after waiting a half hour on the no-show trolly we started to ask questions and found out that it didn't start until May. So, much for our planning. It sure would help if they would post that somewhere on the sign. :) Anyway, we are going to have so much fun capturing their day in December. Aren't they adorable? They will be getting married at the St. Jude Catholic Church with the reception following at the Omni downtown. Enjoy the pictures, Jennifer and Aaron. It was an awesome day!
You may remember the Hasty family from a few months back. Well, their little blessing entered the world on March 19th. Isn't she absolutely precious?!?!? She was alert and focused right in on the camera so that I could take her picture. I was impressed with her ability to hold her head up considering the fact that she was still so little. Big brother Bryce, obviously, adored his little sister and was so good with her. I love it! Congratulations Michelle and Scott! You truly have a beautiful little girl. Enjoy the pictures!
I know you are all anxious to hear how the mini-marathon went (lol) and let's just say that I'm glad it's over. It was only supposed to be in the low 60's Saturday morning, but the dewpoint was 60% causing the humidity to feel like it was 200%...at least to me ;). So, needless to say it was a sweaty, long race which I was glad to finish and put behind me ;). We didn't exactly get the time we were hoping, but considering the weather we only walked about a half mile total...I'll take that accomplishment. Thank you all for cheering me on! Here are a few pictures that Jeremy took...can't you just see the hazy humidity in the 2nd one? Wow! I'm glad it's over! ;)
Well...in about 10 hours I will be running the streets of downtown Indy...without a camera. I have talked to a lot of you who are running and I wanted you to wish you the best tomorrow...and thank you for all of your well wishes. The weather should be perfect running weather which is always a bonus. I'll post some photos from the day soon. Get some good rest!! Blessings!
As you can see I have been doing a lot of shooting in the downtown Indy area...which I love, but I always want to go into a shoot with a fresh look. I want each couple to have pictures that are truly theirs and not carbon copies of everyone else we shoot. Thankfully, Leslie and Drew were willing to try some new areas (to me) in the Mass Ave. area which was a lot of fun. I love the green door shots. We also headed south of the circle and finished at the canals. We had so much fun...especially with the lift. ;) Let's just say we had some good laughs with that one. We had a very successful shoot with amazing pictures as the result. Leslie and Drew will be getting married in July and I know it will be a beautiful day for two beautiful people. They are the sweetest couple...I can't wait!! Enjoy your show!!
We have been truly blessed to work with some amazing couples and Lexi and Trent are no exception. They will be getting married in June and I know that the wedding will be absolutely beautiful. I had a great time getting to know them and can't wait to capture their day. Lexi & Trent...I hope you enjoy the pictures...you are a precious couple.
I forgot how busy my senior year was in high school. However, I was quickly reminded when I shot pictures of Ryan. While we were walking around downtown Indy he was telling me what projects he has left to do, how he just finished his hockey season and now he is preparing to go to Indiana University in the fall. Time flies when you are having fun ;). In the midst of the senior talk, we had some good laughs...I was in a sarcastic mood that day :) and got some awesome pictures. Ryan--it was wonderful meeting you and I wish you the best as you head to IU in the fall. Enjoy the pictures! Blessings-Mel
